Asia :D

Postby NN65 » April 21st, 2017, 6:58 pm

Seeing that the easternmost topic is Central Europe, I claim the whole of Asia! :P

Not from Japan, but from Vietnam, where I remain to find a Tux to this day.

Vietnam should naturally be a perfect playground for TUXes, as the speed limit for anything with 2 wheels is 70kph, and most of the territory is mildly hilly. So it is the kingdom of small displacement bikes. Trouble is: up to 175cc a light bikes permit is required, up from there is big displacement land, so most if not all those who sit for the big bikes permit get a big bike. Indeed, you find powerful 175cc bikes already.

Anyway, cheers, hope to see someone around, I look forward to reading about the Tux.

Is the fuel-injected Tu250x sold in vietnam today? I know the FI Tu was launched in the us market in 2009, in Australia in 2011 and in NZ in 2015. I am not sure about other markets.

That said, the previous TU250x - the volty - is quite common in southeast asia and we have a few members on here with nice cafe builds.

Yes, you could find some Tux in Viet Nam since 2013. Still a rare bike but certainly available at the whim of the dealers.

Typically, big bikes, more than 175cc, are imported by general dealers with little fidelity and a solid sell-and-forget tradition. I am not sure about the Tux, it would make sense for Suzuki to distribute them here themselves, but the first ones to advertise were, as usual, the smuggling kind.
