New Vancouver TUX Rider

Postby Mellow » May 2nd, 2015, 1:45 am

Hi everyone, just introducing myself. New owner of an '11 with only 6000km. Currently stock but parts on the way to:

Remove knee pad stickers and paint tank and side panels gloss black (from the green/grey colour).
Tan leather cafe seat with black piping.
Remove mirrors and add bar ends with built-in weights.
Remove rear brake and tail lights. Replace with single chrome cat-eye LED light with integrated brake/signal lights and plate holder.
    Add Manracks tail rack.
Replace front signals with mini bullet style lights.
Upgrade clutch and front brake levers.
    Added Go Cruise Throttle lock.
New Rizoma Chrome Brake fluid housing.
    Leather saddle bags.
Front fork tool bag (for actual tools/patch kit.
Lastly, 16T'41T upgrade of front and rear sprockets.

Hopefully have it all done by early June.

Will post tutorials and photos as I go.

Hit me up if you're in the Northwest.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi,
Any updates on those mods and pictures? I'm very interested to see your choice of leather bags and how you mounted it!

Hi Freezuch,

I'll take pics this week to share. I had my bags over the pillion seat for the first while but last week mounted the support flaps under the seat. I also bought metal supports but they don't come out enough so the bags hand inward slightly. On the left it leans against the chain guard, on the right the support. A slight flaw in bag design as the backs are somewhat inset. Mounting it under the seat also pushes them back farther because the Manracks arms are in the way.

I also chose to stay with my original paint. It grew on me.

I have installed new signals front and back, bar-ends mirrors, 16T sprocket, Manracks rear tail rack, removed front fork reflectors and two rear tail light reflectors as well as added a chrome license plate cover.

Tomorrow should be sunny so I'll shoot some new pics.

Best,

Mellow

Hello.

Here is a shot from this week. I just did a ride through Washington. On the way I added a short flyscreen (makes a difference!) Keeps the wind off your chest and allows you to tuck in and take some of the wind battering off of you when on the freeway. In the pic you'll see how I mounted the saddlebags under the rear seat. I'll take some close-ups after I detail the bike.

(*Note: Shot in Rainy Blaine Washington next to post office right after flyscreen install).

Full side view.

Front section: (Tool bag - with tool roll, tape, multi-hex tool, microfibre cloth), National Cycle Smoke Flyscreen, bullet signals, bar-end mirrors) - also removed front fork reflectors.

Rear Section: (Saddle bags, Manracks tailrack, new signals [move to taillight bracket], and my waterproof backpack strapped on).

Cheers.
